'The whole experience here is totally different to other clubs I have been at or worked at'

My workday and responsibilities

My responsibility here at The Dutch is mainly teaching and responsible for corporate golf days or golf trips. I also am an Account Manager for private members. For me, one of the reasons I came to work here is because my day to day work varies. I’m not always based at The Dutch. We take clients all over Europe, entertaining members and their clients at top golfing destinations. When I am at The Dutch I ensure all our members and guests have a great day, having fun and learning new things for their golf game.

I got the Job!

Before coming to The Netherlands I studied my PGA degree in Scotland, working at Panmure Golf Club. After completing my studies I wanted sunshine, therefore, I moved to Australia. There I worked for a golf club in Melbourne, called Yarra Yarra Golf Club.

It was quit bizarre how I ended up coming to The Dutch. I got an Instagram message from one of the Golf Professionals saying they were looking for Scottish Golf Professionals and if I were interested in coming over. I had never been to the Netherlands. I had heard a little about The Dutch, from the KLM Open on the European Tour. The Dutch invited me over for a few days to see it in person, and they gave me ‘The Dutch Experience’. I was excited and took on my current job.

The best part of my job

The whole experience here is totally different to other clubs I have been at or worked at. Obviously the golf course is in top condition, but the atmosphere is what I love most. Also how we are a business club, it’s great fun having network events to help our members meet more people. Another reason, I love to travel. Being able to travel for work is amazing!

My most memorable moment at The Dutch

For me, my most memorable day at The Dutch would be my first Member-Guest Invitational. This is one of our biggest events, held over two days. Mauk and Jonas, two of our Founders, on the microphones in the play-off is always a highlight for this event.

My hidden talent

My curiosity would be my hidden talent. It has taught me many life lessons, and has provided me with some awesome experiences. It has also led my job at The Dutch!
